News from the front

Hello guys,

it's been a while, I know. But I have been going through a process that I'll be able to tell you more in some more days.

But for now, I have some old news to share. I decided to quit my job! I wasn't happy anymore, and everybody could see that, so I decided to stop and see what comes next. No plans.

I will definitely miss the place I used to work in but most of all, I'll miss the people: my co-workers that were my friends and my crazy, yet cute students... But you know what? I'm happy, and that counts a lot!

Well, I haven't been scrapping, which was part of my plans when I decided to quit, but I have prepared a tutorial which will be available here sometime during this week. I'll also upload some old lay-outs I haven't made public yet.

Oi pessoas,

já faz tempo, eu sei. Mas estou passando por um processo que falarei mais a respeito em mais alguns dias.

Mas por enquanto, tenho notícias antigas para compartilhar. Eu decidi pedir demissão do meu trabalho! Eu não estava mais feliz, e todo mundo conseguia ver isso, então decidi parar pra ver o que acontece. Sem planos.

Eu vou com certeza sentir falta do lugar em que trabalhava mas além disso, vou sentir falta das pessoas: meus colegas de trabalho que eram meus amigos e meus doidos, porém fofos alunos... Mas sabe? Estou feliz, e isso conta muito!

Bem, eu não tenho feito muito scrap, o que fazia parte dos meus planos quando decidi pedir demissão, mas preparei um tutorial que estará disponível aqui algum dia durante essa semana. Eu também vou postar umas páginas antigas que eu ainda não tinha mostrado pra vocês.

Fave (so far)

These are my favorite lay-outs so far. I did them last weekend, and with my crazy life (about to end) I could only upload the pictures today.

Anyway, the first one is called "at 5" which has a hidden journaling about this phase in Davi's life (when his first tooth was delivered to the tooth fairy, so cute!). I used the Boyfriend collection (from Cosmo Cricket) and some details from a paper Davi made me buy for him. The alphabet is Sassafras.

The second is called "chapter one", which has no journaling (maybe yet, maybe for good) but is about the beginning of our family. The picture was taken in the apartament we lived when Davi was born. At that time, we talked about names, but we had no intention of becoming parents. But it all changed few months later, because on the following year I was pregnant!

Well, in this lay-out I used October Afternoon's paper and alphabet. And also Websters Pages alphabet. I sprayed some glimmer mist and used for the first time Prima flowers. I did some hand stitching for some butterflies.

Esses são meus layouts favoritos até agora. Eu os fiz na semana passada, e com minha vida doida (que está pra acabar) eu só consegui postar as figura hoje.

Bem, o primeiro se chama "at 5" que tem um journaling escondido sobre essa fase da vida do Davi (quando a fada dos dentes levou seu primeiro dentinho, muito fofo!). Eu usei a coleção the Boyfriend (da Cosmo Cricket) e alguns detalhes de um papel que o Davi me fez comprar pra ele. O alfabeto é da Sassafras. (fotos acima)

O segundo se chama "chapter one", que não tem journaling (talvez por enquanto, talvez pra sempre) mas que é sobre o começo da nossa família. A foto foi tirada no apartamento que morávamos quando o Davi nasceu. Naquele tempo nós falavamos sobre nomes, mas não tínhamos a intenção de tornarmos pais. Mas isso tudo mudou alguns meses depois, porque no ano seguinte eu estava grávida!

Nesse layout eu usei papéis e alfabeto da October Afternoon. E também alfabeto da Websters Pages. Eu usei glimmer mist (tinta borrifada) e usei pela primeira vez flores da Prima. Fiz uma costura à mão em algumas borboletas. (fotos acima)

last class

Hey!

Yesterday in one of my groups at school I decided to have an art class with them. That's the theme of our lesson, so I brought to school some scrapbooking papers that I either had leftovers of or that I had for a while and hadn't used. Anyway, each student (there were 6 last class) got the paper they wanted, and the embellishments they liked and created their layout. The sad thing is that I forgot to take my camera, so I don't have the picture of their work, but they loved creating!

Of course I had to help a little, but I also managed to do something... I started in class, but finished at home after work, and here is the result:

After having finished, I loved the result, but I'll probably write something about the moment when the photo was taken.

Ei!

Ontem em um dos meus grupos eu decidi fazer uma aula de artes com eles. Esse é o tema da lição então eu levei para a escola alguns papéis de scrapbook que ou eu tinha uns retalhos ou estavam já há um tempo parados sem uso. Bem, cada aluno (tinham 6 alunos ontem) pegou o papel que quis e os enfeites que gostou e criou seu layout. O triste de tudo é que eu me esqueci de levar a câmera, então não tenho foto das criações deles, mas eles amaram criar!

Claro que eu tive que ajudar um pouquinho, mas consegui fazer alguma coisa... Eu comecei na sala de aula, mas terminei em casa depois do trabalho. E o resultado você confere acima.

Assim que eu terminei, amei o resultado, mas eu provavelmente escreverei alguma coisa sobre o momento em que a foto foi tirada.

My mother's day

Hey all!

My mother's day actually started on Friday at 7pm. There was a presentation on my boys' school. And they all needed to be wearing black T-shirt and jeans, so I took a picture of them before going to their school:

It was really cute, to see Daniel as a flower:

and Davi with a heart in his chest singing a song looking into my eyes:

And then on Sunday we went to my grandmother's house to eat feijoada. I had to take a picture with the boys and their great-grandmother:

Ei gente!

Meu dia das mães começou na verdade na sexta às 19h. Teve uma apresentação na escola dos meninos. E eles precisavam ir vestidos de camiseta preta e jeans, então tirei uma foto deles antes de irmos para a escola deles (foto 1). Foi muito fofo ver o Daniel como uma flor (foto 2) e o Davi com um coração no peito cantando uma canção olhando em meus olhos (foto 3).

E aí, no domingo fomos na casa a minha avó comer feijoada. Eu tive que tirar uma foto dos meninos com a bisa deles (foto 4)!

Espero que tenham tido um dia das mães maravilhoso!

Today

Today was a very different day... The night was a mess, because Daniel got sick yesterday, so I didn't have much sleep. But my mother was here and gave me a hand while I was doing the house chores. We had lunch pretty late and Davi decided he didn't want to go to school. Then my student called and cancelled class. I only went to work at 3pm.

It seemed like everything was in slow motion, like when it is Sunday, you know? But then, when my last class was over, it seemed so late and like time had flied... Really weird, this sensation. I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes I feel like time controls me and not the opposite, like I don't have any control of what happens even planning everything in advance.

Oh well, tomorrow's a brand new day!

Hoje foi um dia diferente... Minha noite foi horrível porque o Daniel ficou doente ontem, então não consegui dormir bem. Mas minha mãe estava aqui e me deu uma mãozinha enquanto eu dava um jeito na casa. Almoçamos bem tarde e o Davi decidiu não ir à escola. Aí meu aluno ligou cancelando a aula. Eu só fui pro trabalho às 3h.

Parece que tudo estava andando devagar, como acontece no domingo, sabe? Mas aí, quando minha última aula acabou, parece que o tempo tinha voado... Muito estranho, essa sensação. Não sei se acontece só comigo, mas às vezes parece que o tempo me controla e não o oposto, como se eu não tivesse controle do que acontece mesmo planejando tudo antes.

Bom, amanhã é um novo dia!

What a nice surprise!

All things happen for a reason, I can't forget that!

Well, today I got home later than the usual. I gave a workshop today about Job Interview and it was great! Lots of people joined me and we had a great time. Since I was going to be at Yázigi until late, I asked my mom to stay with my boys, and because they need their seats to ride in the car, she got my car at work and left hers. When the workshop finished I went home and parked her car in the visitor garage, which is not in the same level as I park mine (on the underground), and then I had a vision: three beautiful girls scrapping at the place we have in the building for parties.

They were the cutest, and even invited me to scrap with them, but it was late already, so I decided not to. BUT if they have another get together like this one, I'm SO gonna join them! This are their blogs: Papel e cores, Adoro scrapbook and Tania scrap. Just go there!

Todas as coisas acontecem por um motivo, não posso me esquecer disso!

Bem, hoje cheguei em casa mais tarde do que o normal. Dei um workshop hoje sobre Job Interview e foi muito legal! Várias pessoas se juntaram a mim e nos divertimos bastante. Já que eu ficaria no Yázigi até tarde, pedi à minha mãe pra ficar com os meninos e como eles precisam de cadeirinhas pra andar no carro, ela ficou com meu caro e deixou o dela pra mim. Quando o workshop terminou, fui pra casa e parei na garagem de visitantes, que fica no térreo e não no subsolo onde paro meu carro, e daí tive uma visão: três mulheres lindas fazendo scrap no salão de festas.

Elas foram muito fofas, e até me convidaram pra fazer scrap com elas, mas já estava muito tarde então decidir não fazer. MAS se elas tiverem um outro encontro como esse, eu vou com certeza me juntar a elas! Esses são os blogs delas: Papel e cores, Adoro scrapbook e Tania scrap. Dá uma passada lá!
